Full Time annual salary $88,000 - $93,000, plus superannuation.

 

 

About Ravenhall Correctional Centre

Ravenhall Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia, based west of Melbourne and is Victoria's largest prison for adult sentenced and unsentenced males. It's contemporary campus-style design provides a safe and humane environment that enables and nurtures GEO's Continuum of Care operating philosophy. 

Ravenhall also has a dedicated Forensic Mental Health Unit, a specialised Closed Supervision Unit for prisoners with significant challenging behaviours, and a small Mission Based Unit for prisoners who have never been in custody before. In recognition of the importance of Continuum of Care, Ravenhall extends its presence into the community by providing ex-prisoners with access to post-release support at GEO’s Community Reintegration Centre

About the Opportunity

Procurement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, supplier and inventory management. This role ensures the procurement activities are carried out efficiently, cost effectively, and in compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Key Role Accountabilities:

Subject to the provisions of relevant legislation, organisational guidelines, policies, and directives, this position will be responsible for all purchasing procedures for the stores within the facility.

  • Manages the stores consumables ordering process and delivery systems, and reviews
    stores ordering data to prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings,
    and supplier performance to inform value for money strategies.
  • Improves efficiency by closely monitoring supplier costs and performance, resolving issues
    related to delivery, quality, or pricing and periodically market tests competitors.
  • Maintains accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet
    business needs.
  • Creates and manages purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services,
    reconciling delivery dockets and invoices against purchase orders.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements in procurement activities and assists in
    the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Collaborates with other departments to understand their procurement needs and provide
    solutions.
  • Provides leadership, management and direction to the stores team.
  • Ensures compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures and the Governance, Risk
    and Compliance Manual.

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in inventory management in a warehouse or large stores environment.
  • Advanced level of computer literacy, knowledge of information systems and proficient use of
    MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with
    excellent time management, organisation and administrative proficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience in people management with the ability to lead, motivate,
    develop and support a team to deliver service excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as part of a multi- disciplinary team in a correctional environment.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, procurement and/or related field.
  • Certificate IV in Stores and Warehousing.
  • Valid and current forklift licence.

Other Requirements of the Role

  • Ability to work within a correctional setting, which will involve direct contact with prisoners.
  • Valid and current full Australian driver’s license.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Work outside of ordinary business hours may be required on occasion.

  • Pre-Employment Medical and Fitness Assessment, which will be covered by our organisation. The evaluation will likely include various aspects, including assessed lifting capacity, aerobic fitness, lung function, grip strength, upper body strength, lower body strength, and core strength.

Important: Please note that Pre-Employment clearance can take up to approximately 6 weeks.
